A Picture Paints a Thousand Words!

Kia Ora Bloggers!

What do you think of the picture below? Does it remind you of anything?

Well, I've asked myself those same two questions, and I'm going to explain what it makes me think of. At first, I couldn't really think of what to write, but in the end, I got it. The picture below makes me think of how the world used to be (the right side of the picture), abundant in plants and animals and fruits. And how it is slowly becoming due to climate change and other things (the left side of the picture). Please leave a comment on what the picture reminds you of.

Amazing Poetry!

Kia Ora Bloggers!

Have you ever created your own poem? If you have, what is it about? Well for writing this week, we have been working on poetry.

Our teachers showed us a few videos of people reading their poems and gave us some poems that were written by Pie Corbett and Valerie Bloom, who are both very good poets. Anyway, today we had to create our own poem, and I called my one 'Cake'. It would be amazing if you could leave some feedback on my poem, thanks!

Happy Blogging!

There’s cake there’s cake,

It’s everywhere,

All sorts of toppings in my hair,

I can’t decide which one to eat,

My tummys full, oh what a treat!

I dance around, with delight,

I really want another bite

It’s time for lunch,

Oh I can’t wait,

I go to the kitchen and get a plate.

It’s calling me, it’s calling me,

What’s for lunch?

I want to see,

Is it roast chicken?

Or fish soup?

Sandwiches?

A Cantaloupe?

Oh wait, no way!

It’s cake, no fake

I wish we had this everyday!

Future Or Past?

Kia Ora Bloggers!

If you had the chance to go time traveling in Doctor Who's 'TARDIS' ('TARDIS' is the name of his time traveling machine), where and when would you go? Today for home learning I have decided to present my work on Biteable because I know how to use the website. I don't really know where and when I'd go, In fact, I would probably just not use the time machine at all and stay home with my family instead. My reasons for that are in the video below, so make sure that you watch the video! It would be great if you could leave a comment of where and when you would go if you had the chance to time travel.

The Hardy Boys!

Kia Ora Bloggers!

What book have you recently read? Tom Gates? Nancy Drew? Well I've been reading a series of books called 'The Hardy Boys'. It's about these two boys, Frank and Joe Hardy, and they are secret agents, working for ATAC, which stands for 'American Teens Against Crime'. Frank is the oldest (18 years old to be exact, Frank is one year older than Joe, meaning that Joe is 17), smartest, and maturest out of the two brothers, and Joe is the more sporty, less smart, and annoying little brother (According to Frank). Since this series of books are my favourite, I decided to make a book report on them for Home Learning. I was Super excited when I found out that I could create a book report, because I had read the perfect book to put on my blog! Some of you that have read my blog before may be thinking, "If he was so excited to make a book report on 'The Hardy Boys', then why didn't he just do it in his last book report?". This is because I just started reading the series (And I all ready love it!). I decided to present my book report on Google Drawings because there is enough space to fit in a picture and some words.

Marathon!

Kia Ora Bloggers!

Have any of you reading this blog post ever run a marathon? Well guess what... We Have!

Just yesterday we did the last few laps of our marathon. You see, a few months ago we started a marathon. It wasn't really a proper marathon, seeing as we didn't run the whole thing first-try. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we had to run three laps of the rugby field, which was equal to 1 kilometer. Or so we thought so. After doing that for a few weeks, we realized that three laps of our rugby field was actually equal to 1.7 kilometers! So technically, we ran more than a marathon. But anyway, yesterday was the day that we did our last kilometer, and for our perseverence, we got to get a medal, ice blocks, and certificate! Luckily, I was the first person to finish the marathon, and it was quite tiring. I decided

Who Would You Choose?

Hello Bloggers!

'Who Would You Choose' if you had the chance to invite not just one, but three celebrity's to dinner with you? Today I m going to be asking myself that question. For Home Learning today I am going to be righting (pretend) invitations to the three celebrity's that I would invite to dinner. I decided to invite Bear Grylls, Michael Jordan, and Ed Helms. Hope you enjoy!

Darth Vaders Day off!

Hello Blogging World!

Today for writing my classmates and I wrote a diary entry of what Darth Vader would do on his day off. Though, I wrote a story of Darth Vader as a younger kid. I was kind of excited when I found out that we were going to be writing a story on what Darth Vader would do on his day off. I found it pretty challenging when it came to actually writing the story, this was because I didn't know what Darth Vader would do on his holiday. Anyway, this is my story, I hope that you like it!

Day One

Today was an average day. I went to Star school and learnt how to fly, nothing out of the ordinary though. At break time, I didn’t really know what to do because there were people bullying me. I took out my light saber and showed them who’s in charge. I’m not bullied any more, they now call me Darth Vader. When I got home I showed my parents that I could fly, they were already pros at it. For dinner we had broccoli, one of my least favourites. I ate it ‘cos my parents said that it will make me ‘Strong and Healthy’. At night my parents told me a story, and I went to sleep after watching an episode of Mickey Mouse.

Day Two

Today was kinda like yesterday, though this time we were taught about fighting etiquette. Two examples are:

Before you are about to destroy your poor enemy, invite them to dinner or at least ask them if they have any last words.

And:

Only fight for food, water, nothing at all, and of course your life.

I didn’t really get it, so I don’t expect you to. Anyway, tomorrow is my favourite day, because we go on holiday! I just can’t wait! No more Star School, and no more homework! But what my mum said as we were eating dinner hit me like an asteroid. I was going to a Holiday Program…

Day Three

Turns out, Holiday programs aren’t that bad at all! I made a few new friends, and we played ‘Shoot the Yoda’ with our blasters, it was so fun! Once we finished playing games, we created our own Solar Systems. We had to program a hologram and put the planets Tatooine, Hoth, Coruscant, Dagobah, and more into it. I couldn’t wait for tomorrow to come.
